It’s a different kind of mom and pop store that has just opened in Bellaire.

An alumni of the Adair Concepts’ Eloise Nichols Grill, chef Joseph Stayshich, and his artist wife Gina have opened a new boutique wine shop that also features gourmet foods such as locally sourced cheeses and charcuterie, baked items, plus CBD products, various home accoutrements, gifts and art.

Bodega Bellaire is located at 5202 Bissonnet St. Its motto is “where palate meets passion.”

There are about 150 domestic and imported wines in stock from smaller wineries — most using organic growing practices and old school “low intervention” techniques in their production, including organic, sustainable, biodynamic and natural wines.

“The idea was that we could be a one-stop shop similar to a New York bodega but with a curated selection of goods and a great wine selection in line with a bodega in Spain,” the Stayshiches explain on their website, BodegaBellaire.com.
