Three armed suspects held up a West U area Kroger bank today and left with an unknown amount of money.
Police were called to the First Convenience Bank inside Kroger on Buffalo Speedway around 10:20 a.m.
A Houston Police Department spokesperson told InstantNewsWestU that two black male suspects jumped over the counter while a third suspect stood near the entrance of the bank, armed with a shotgun.
The suspects forced bank employees to open the vault and teller drawers.
The suspects then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle that was driven by a fourth suspect.
The stolen vehicle was later recovered by HPD officers.
All of the suspects wore masks and gloves and two of the suspects were armed.
There were no reported injuries.
The FBI bank robbery task force is leading the investigation.

Maybe it is time for grocery stores to rethink their policy of allowing bank branches in their markets. The banks are very vunerable, have no security and increase the risk to grocery customers. The risk of shopping in markets housing banks is increasing, so why take the risk when there are other options? Is the income from the branch bank worth losing grocery business?
