A common phrase in baseball is that good pitching stops good hitting. Seven Lakes found that to be true against Strake Jesuit’s Nick Zarosky.
Zarosky held the Spartans scoreless until the sixth inning of a 3-2 Crusaders victory March 14, getting Strake Jesuit its first District 19-5A victory. The Crusaders lost their first two games despite allowing a total of four runs.
Seven Lakes scored 24 in its first two district victories but could not solve Zarosky until Jon Duplantier’s two-run single in the sixth to produce the final score.
