Bellaire Area Under Wind Advisory Until Noon, Severe Storms Possible

January 25, 2012 by Bellaire Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The Bellaire area has been placed under a wind advisory until noon today by the National Weather Service.

Southeast winds with speeds of 20 – 25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph are possible through late morning.

Drivers of vans, campers, trailers and other high-profile vehicles should be alert to the dangers of the winds, especially when driving along east-to-west oriented roads.

The dense fog advisory previously issued for the Bellaire area until 9 a.m. has been cancelled.

In addition to the winds, thunderstorms are expected to move into the area as the morning progresses. Some of the storms may be severe with rainfall totals exceeding 3 inches in some areas.

The chance for rain is 80 percent throughout the day.
