Bellaire residents will see some changes to the city’s schedule for picking up trash, recycling and yard waste starting in October, after action Monday by the Bellaire City Council.
The changes are aimed at improving garbage and recycling services in the city, particularly at holiday times, when the current schedule has resulted in lengthy waits for recycling pick-up.
The changes were proposed by Bellaire Public Works Director Brant Gary, who was praised by the council for the plan. The city will be sending refrigerator magnets to residents in the city’s five zones for trash services.
Gary said that the new route changes will improve efficiency, as well as reduce costs.
