The months-long process to develop and adopt a Bellaire city budget for the 2020 fiscal year will start tonight (July 15) at City Hall, with staff’s formal budget presentation to City Council.
City Manager Paul Hofmann will outline the proposal starting at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, 7008 S. Rice Ave.
According to Hofmann’s written weekly report last Friday, Bellaire’s finance employees would be working on the budget through the weekend, and the council would receive its budget notebooks at the meeting.
The council is also expected to act tonight to set a public hearing on the budget for 6 p.m. Aug. 12, with two workshops on Aug. 13 and 19, and a vote in September.
Bellaire’s fiscal year runs from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30.
Tonight’s meeting will be livestreamed at bellairetx.gov. The agenda can be accessed here.
