Bellaire Police Officers arrested seven drivers for operating motor vehicles with invalid or suspended drivers’ licenses in the city last week.
Officers also investigated one case of burglary of a motor vehicle, one shoplifting case and a death investigation involving an elderly resident.
On July 31, at 2:54 a.m. a Bellaire officer was in the process of booking a suspect for driving while license invalid. During a search of the suspect, the officer was found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was also charged for that offense.
Shortly after noon on July 31, a Bellaire officer stopped a black Chevrolet in the 5400 block of Bellaire Blvd. The driver presented her Texas ID card, but she was subsequently found to have an invalid driver’s license. She was arrested and booked into the Bellaire Jail.
Another driver with a suspended Texas Driver’s License was arrested on August 1, after he was stopped in the 5100 block of Bellaire Blvd. at 10:22 a.m. He was charged with Driving While License Invalid/Enhanced, a Class B Misdemeanor.
At about 1:30 p.m. on August 1, a Bellaire officer was dispatched to investigate a death at a residence in the 4600 block of Evergreen. The person who called police had administered medication to the 86-year old victim. About 40 minutes later, the victim was no longer conscious or breathing.
On August 1, a Bellaire officer recovered property found in the 7500 block of the IH 610 East service road. The property was held at the Bellaire Police Department until it can be returned to the owner.
On August 2, Bellaire police responded to a theft-in-progress at a store in the 5800 block of Bissonnet. An officer located the suspect, who was found to be in possession of the stolen items, and in possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was charged with possession of a controlled substance, shoplifting and larceny.
On August 2, a Bellaire police officer stopped the driver of a vehicle in the 4600 block of Evergreen, after seeing the driver run a red light. The officer determined that the suspect had a Harris County outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance. The officer placed the suspect into custody and then found drugs and drug paraphernalia in his car. The suspect was charged for possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Bellaire Jail.
On August 4, a Bellaire officer stopped a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the 5000 block of Bellaire Blvd. for displaying an invalid temporary Texas Buyers’ registration tag. The driver was arrested after the officer found that he had a suspended driver’s license and no proof of insurance.
Also on August 4, a Bellaire officer stopped the driver of a 1997 brown Buick Park Avenue in the 5900 block of IH 610 after a computer check showed the vehicle had unconfirmed insurance and expired registration. The driver had a suspended license, no proof of insurance, and three outstanding warrants with the City of Sugar Land Police department. The driver was arrested for Driving While License Suspended Class B and Sugar Land Police warrants.
Another driver was arrested for driving without a valid license on August 4, in the 4700 block of Bellaire Blvd. The driver of the 1998 white Toyota Corolla had a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
On August 5, an unknown suspect broke out the front passengers’ side window of a motor vehicle in the 7000 block of Fifth St. and removed a woman’s purse.
On August 6, the driver of a white Dodge pickup truck was stopped in the 6300 block of the IH 610 eastbound service road. The driver had a suspended driver’s license and was arrested.
At 3:32 a.m. on Friday, a Bellaire officer arrested a driver in the 7400 block of IH 610. Details were not immediately available, but the driver was charged with driving while intoxicated.
