A Bellaire resident who had been involved in an incident of domestic violence on Tuesday, February 10 was arrested in the 5500 block of Little Lake, after police officers found him heavily intoxicated and acting disorderly in public. The suspect was also charged with resisting arrest, when he struck a Bellaire officer during the booking process at the Bellaire Jail.
A second case of domestic violence happened Thursday at about 6 am. in the 4300 block of Jim West. Bellaire officers made contact with the victim and the suspect. The suspect was placed into custody for class C assault and transported to the Bellaire Jail for processing
A third assault was reported to Bellaire police on February 10, in an office at a building in the 6300 block of the West Loop. Police learned that the suspect became angry at a solicitor who interrupted his work. The suspect began lecturing the solicitor in an aggravated manner, and poked the victim in the chest between “one and three times.”
Bellaire police last week also investigated one residential burglary, three incidents of shoplifting and two thefts. Bellaire police also arrested three people for driving while intoxicated.
On February 10, Bellaire police were called to a home in the 4700 block of Braeburn, where the homeowner reported that a burglary had occurred sometime between February 4 and February 10. The unknown suspects broke out the rear kitchen window and entered the home.
On February 7, a resident of the 4900 block of Palmetto went to the Bellaire Police Station to report a theft. The victim stated that a piece of jewelry had been removed from her home by an unknown suspect.
on Wednesday, February 11, Bellaire police were dispatched to a residence in the 4500 block of Birch St., where a resident reported that
he had a security video from January 26 which showed an unknown male suspect removing two UPS packages from the porch. The suspect handed the packages to another unknown suspect waiting in the passenger side of the vehicle and drove away heading westbound on Birch St.
On February 5, a Bellaire police officer was dispatched to the Randall’s grocery store about a shoplifting suspect. Loss prevention employees observed a male individual remove an item from a package and place the item inside his coat pocket before exiting the store and not paying for the item. Store employees detained the individual upon exiting the store and called the police. The suspect was charged with Class C theft.
Bellaire police were called again to the Randall’s ;grocery store on February 10, after a loss prevention agent observed a woman who selected several items from the shelves and left the store without paying. The suspect was detained until police arrived, and items from the store were in the suspect’s possession. The stolen items were returned to the store and the woman was arrested for Class B theft.
A few hours later, Bellaire police again were called to the store about a shoplifter. The suspect was observed by the store loss prevention officer placing items into his basket and then walking out of the store without paying.. The suspect was detained until Bellaire Police arrived on scene. The suspect’s criminal history was checked and showed one previous conviction for theft. The suspect was placed in custody and charged with class B theft.
At 3:02 a.m. on February 6, a Bellaire police officer observed a silver Land Rover travelling at a high rate of speed in the 5000 block of Bissonnet Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and upon making contact with the suspect, immediately detected a very strong odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle and suspect. After further investigation the suspect was placed into custody for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Bellaire Jail for processing.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on February 7, a Bellaire police officer was dispatched to a report of a suspicious person in the 5400 block of Braeburn. The subject was observed entering a vehicle and leaving the scene where he then crashed into a parked vehicle. The subject was arrested and transported to the Bellaire Jail for driving while intoxicated.
Just minutes after midnight on February 8, a Bellaire police officer was on patrol in the 6000 block of IH 610 Southbound when he observed a white Ford F150 travelling 89 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. The officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver immediately detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and driver. After further investigation, the suspect was placed into custody for DWI and transported to the Bellaire Jail for processing.
