Bellaire Fire Department stalwart retires

February 22, 2022 by Charlotte Aguilar

After more than 42 years with the Bellaire Fire Department, Assistant Chief and Fire Marshal Alton Moses has retired.

Moses became a firefighter with the city in 1979, working his way up the ranks to the number-two job, which he took over in 2005.

A jovial and comforting presence in even the most stressful situations in the community, he was honored by colleagues as “an excellent member of our fire team…respected and loved by his co-workers and city staff.

“We wish him the best as he begins his new adventure into retirement and sincerely thank him for dedicating his time to the city of Bellaire.”
