Bellaire High School Class of 2010 Valedictorian
Annirudh Prasad lists computer science as his favorite subject. He has served as the International Club’s Webmaster, president of the French Honor Society, and secretary and president of the Hindi Honor Society. He is also a member of People to People and the National Economics Challenge team. Prasad attended private school before coming to Bellaire.
In his spare time, Prasad enjoys drumming, reading, teaching, and programming computers. He has won awards at the Texas French Symposium, National French Contest, National Economics Challenge, and Mahatma Gandhi Thousand Lights for Peace Essay Contest. Prasad plans to attend Carnegie Mellon University in the fall, where he will pursue a degree in computer science.
Bellaire High School Class of 2010 Salutatorian
Louise Lu has been accepted by Dartmouth College and Cornell University, has received a scholarship from Young Epidemiology Scholars, and plans to study biology and international relations. She attended Roberts Elementary School and T. H. Rogers Middle School before coming to Bellaire, where she played varsity volleyball and was a member of the debate team for all four years. The vice president of the National Honor Society and a cofounder of Partners in Health, Lu is also a member of the Model United Nations.
A National Merit Finalist, Lu placed sixth in a national debate competition, was a 2009 state debate champion, and has won a President’s Volunteer Service Award and Scholastic Writing Gold Key Award. She names biology and economics as her favorite subjects, and in her spare time, she volunteers and plays and watches sports, including Ultimate Frisbee. She has also taught classes on nutrition and the environment and organized community projects in rural Nicaragua through Amigos de las Américas.
