Some of the medalists - Maria Yanez, Nikita, Makarov, Alexander Aceves, Valery Pokidaylo, David Plaks, teacher Lisa McLendon, Diana Fernandez, Katie Graves, Rachel Moore and Julia Chernis.

Bellaire High School Russian Language students recently received top scored in the Written Russian Language Competition.

Bellaire students earned more medals and awards than any other school in the nation.

“Second year nationally is considered beginner, so first year students with only a few months of Russian are really amazing to compete with second year students all over the country,” Russian teacher Lisa McLendon said. “This list is evidence of outstanding effort on the park of these students, who tried their best to achieve honors for themselves, their families and our school.”
