Bellaire High School Students To Study Abroad This Summer

May 28, 2010 by Bellaire Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The PTO awarded scholarships to three students planning to study abroad this summer.

Junior Julie Heffler has been accepted into AMHSI, Alexander Muss High School in Israel, for an eight-week summer program.

Sophomore Caroline Meyerson will spend six weeks in Boaco, Nicaragua as part of Amigos de las Americas.

Junior Samantha Maher is also going abroad on an Amigos de las Americas program to spend seven weeks in Cotopaxi, Ecuador.

Amigos de las Americas participants spend a whole year preparing for this trip in leadership and language training.

The PTO feels that these students should be recognized for their efforts and that by traveling to spend time in other cultures they will ultimately enrich the community at Bellaire High School.
