Bellaire hires a new Chief Financial Officer

April 6, 2016 by Essentials Staff 1 Comment

The City of Bellaire will welcome Terrence Beaman as the new Chief Financial Officer on Monday April 11th.
Beaman — who holds a Master’s of Public Administration and Bachelor’s in Business Accounting — is familiar with municipal government. He spent the last two years as the Assistant Director of Finance for Harris County and has more than 20 years of experience working in California’s municipal government as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance to name a few.
“Terrence has already had the opportunity to visit with many of the staff including the staff that makes up his new finance department,” said Bellaire City Manager Paul Hoffman at Monday’s City Council meeting.
Hoffman added that Beaman and the other finalist were asked to give a presentation to members of the finance staff. The finalist had to answer the question, ‘Assess the financial condition of the city.’
“Terrence did a great job,” said Hoffman. “He’ll hit the ground running and be a great finance director for us hopefully for a long time to come.”
