Bellaire Historical Society to Host Former Colt 45 Carl Warwick

The Bellaire Historical Society Jan. 12meeting will feature Carl Warwick, former outfielder for the Houston’s Colt 45’s and founder of the R.E. “Bob” Smith Award.

Hear about the start of Major League Baseball in Houston from one of the players. Find out about Judge Roy Hoffienz, credited with bringing MLB to Houston, and builder of the Astrodome. Warwick was also a member of the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals in 1964.

The Bellaire Historical Society meets on the second Thursday of each month (September-May) at the Bellaire City Hall, 7008 South Rice. Refreshments and BHS updates start at 6:30 p.m. and the program starts at 7 p.m.
