Bellaire Police Arrest Man For Lying About Name, Date Of Birth

Bellaire Police arrested a 31-year-old male on July 22 for lying to police about his real name and age.

Jose Gelover was pulled over in the 4700 block of Wedgewood for failing to turn in a right turn only lane and for an expired motor vehicles registration buyer’s tag of 7/10/10.

During the traffic stop, Gelover gave a false name and date of birth to the officer, police said.

Gelover was arrested for fail to identify to police.

On July 25, Hugo Gonzalez, 51, was arrested for theft of service.

Gonzalez used a taxi and didn’t pay for the service.

On July 22, a purse and cell phone was stolen from a home in the 4600 block of Maple.

On July 23, someone ran off with another man’s wallet at Advance Auto Parts, 5422 Bellaire Blvd.

The victim told police that he had given his wallet to a man that he did not know and then the man left the store with it, police said.

This incident is under investigation.
