Bellaire Police Arrest Woman For Forgery At Compass Bank

Here is a recap of the routine police activity in Bellaire from June 21 – June 29.

On June 21, police pulled a vehicle over in the 8000 block of IH 610 southbound for speeding and failing to maintain a single lane.

During the traffic stop, the driver was found to be in possession of a fictitious social security card and the passenger was intoxicated.

The driver, Raul Garcia, 19, was arrested for tampering with a government record. The passenger, Maria Romero, 39, was arrested for public intoxication.

On June 24, an unknown person mailed a forged check to a resident in the 4600 block of Cedar Oaks Lane.

On June 25, an officer noticed a solicitor in the 5000 block of Bissonnet. When the officer made contact with the vendor to check his soliciting permit, the officer found that he was using a stolen Texas driver’s license.

Hak Kim, 54, was arrested for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.

On June 27, an unknown person stole a woman’s purse while she attended a party at a friend’s house in the 6400 block of Newcastle.

On June 27, a male suspect stole a cell phone from a display case at a T-Mobile store, 5311 Bellaire. The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a white long sleeve shirt and red camouflaged shorts.

On June 29, Mary Stevens, 26, attempted to cash a check using someone else’s account information at Compass Bank, 4555 Bissonnet.

Stevens was arrested and charged with forgery.

These incidents are under investigation with the Bellaire Police Department.
