Bellaire Police Investigate Armed Robbery, 6 DWIs

Bellaire police last week investigated an armed robbery in the 5400 block of Holly Street, one case of auto theft, a residential burglary and six cases of driving-while-intoxicated.
On Monday, October 6, an officer was dispatched to the 5400 block of Holly to investigate an aggravated robbery. When the officer arrived, the victim had left the scene, so the officer went to his residence. The victim advised the officer that he had been robbed at gunpoint, for an undisclosed amount of cash.
On Sunday, October 5, a resident of the 4300 block of Dorothy St. called the police to report that her home had been burglarized. The victim advised police that an unknown person had broken into her home.
On Wednesday, October 8, a resident of the 4500 block of Bellaire Blvd. called police to report that his car had been stolen. The complainant called police at about 6:24 a.m., to report that his vehicle was missing from his driveway. The resident said he had last seen the vehicle in his driveway at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7.
Two motor vehicle burglaries were reported last week to the Bellaire Police. In both cases, lawn equipment was stolen from men working in Bellaire.
On Tuesday, October 7, a Bellaire Police Department Corporal was dispatched to the 5100 block of Patrick Henry regarding a motor vehicle burglary. Lawn equipment was removed from the bed of the victim’s truck.
On Wednesday, October 8, a Bellaire Police Department Corporal went to the 5500 block of Huisache Street regarding the theft of a lawn mower from the back of a landscaping trailer.
Also on Wednesday, Bellaire police were called to a residence in the 4400 block of Vivian St. at about 3:30 a.m. regarding a family disturbance. Officers arrested the son of a man for assault, causing bodily injury to a family member.
On Thursday, October 9, Bellaire police were called to a store in the 5000 block of Bellaire Blvd. An officer made contact with the owner of the store who stated a woman came into the store and left with items without paying.
Bellaire police returned a juvenile runaway to his home in the 5300 block of Jessamine, after his parents reported him missing on Monday, October 6. The youth was found later, walking southbound on S. Rice Ave. and was transported home.
Bellaire police last week arrested six drivers who were driving-while-intoxicated.
On Sunday, October 5, at 2:28 a.m., a Bellaire police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle without a passenger-side taillight. A man and a woman occupied the vehicle. The man, who was driving was arrested for DWI.
Later that morning, at about 2:52 a.m., a Bellaire police officer stopped a black, 2004 GMC Sierra for failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. d. While inventorying the suspect’s property, officers located 2 baggies containing a white powder. The substance field tested positive for cocaine, and was sent for further analysis.
On Sunday, October 5, close to midnight, a Bellaire police officer noticed silver Nissan Frontier stopped in a moving lane of traffic in the 7600 block of IH 610. Then, as the driver began moving again, the officer observed the driver failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. The driver was charged with DWI.
At 2:32 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, a Bellaire police officer observed a vehicle traveling at 100 mph in the 7500 block of IH 610. The driver was arrested for DWI.
Shortly after midnight on Friday, October 10, a Bellaire police officer noticed a vehicle in the 5900 block of Bissonnet failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. The driver was charged with DWI.
At 1:09 a.m. on Friday, October 10, a Bellaire police officer on patrol in the 5200 block of Bellaire noticed a vehicle fail to stop in the designated stopping point at the intersection of Bellaire and Bissonnet. During the traffic investigation, the officer found the driver to be operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated and to have a suspended driver’s license. The driver was arrested and transported to the Bellaire Jail without incident.
