Bellaire residents celebrated National Night Out throughout the city on Tuesday evening.

The Bellaire Police Department has hosted the event for the past 29 years to promote neighborhood spirit and bolster police and community partnerships to continue the effort to keep neighborhoods safe.
The event was held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Neighborhood groups organized block party style events and officers from the police department visited each block party to answer resident’s questions.
This year’s theme was Burglary Prevention. Officers answered questions on how to prevent burglaries.
The benefits of “getting to know” your neighbors extends far beyond the fun and camaraderie on Oct. 2, the police department said. When neighbors know each other, they instinctively tend to keep an eye out for each other and notify the police when something just doesn’t look right.
It was so much fun to be with our neighbors !!
