The May 5 shooting was one of three attempts that were made on Yvonne Stern’s life.

The first shooting occurred on Feb. 11 in the 500 block of S. Third St.

Bellaire Assistant Police Chief Byron Holloway said neighbors heard gunshots and called the police. No one was injured during the incident and police were unable to locate the suspect.

The next day, Yvonne Stern’s son noticed a bullet hole in the front window of their home. The babysitter called the police, who found a bullet lodged into a chair in the home.

On April 15, a man rang the doorbell of the Stern’s home and fired a shot into the door as Yvonne Stern went to answer the door. No one was injured during the incident.
