The National Weather Service has placed Bellaire and most of the Houston area under a dense fog advisory until 11 a.m.
In some areas, visibility has been reduced to less than a quarter of a mile.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities can be significantly restricted.
Drivers are urged to use extreme caution in foggy areas, use their low-beam headlights and increase distances between vehicles on the roadway.
After the fog burns off, there is a 30 percent of rain and isolated thundershowers for the remainder of the day.
