Bellaire residents have a new mobile app to connect them to basic city services through their electronic devices, and are being asked for input into a redesign of the city’s website.
The app, powered by SeeClickFix, replaces the old Resident Request Center, providing easy access to submit non-emergency service requests and to report public works issues with streets, sidewalks and other infrastructure. The app has a locator feature that automatically pinpoints the issue that’s being reported, and allows photos to be submitted.
On the receiving end, the system streamlines how city employees’ track service requests. Automatic updates on service reports can also be provided by email.
Basic information about city services, such as solid waste collection, is available through the app. Described as “somewhat of a work in progress,” the city will be upgrading the app’s features over time, and is looking for feedback from the public on how it’s performing and what would make it more useful.
Residents are also encouraged to participate in a survey on how Bellaire can make its bellairetx.gov website more user-friendly. A pop-up window on the site leads directly to the questionnaire.
