Bellaire High School, which opened its doors in 1954, is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee this week with homecoming activities that range from “Spirit Days” featuring students in costumes to a tailgate party in the parking lot of Butler Stadium.
The Bellaire Cardinals will face the Reagan High School Bulldogs in the game Friday night, and students, parents and alumni are invited to participate in the pre-game festivities. The tailgate party starts at 4:30 p.m., to game time. The party will include Cheerleaders, Belles, Bird Keepers, Booster Club members and all alums.
Bellaire fans should gather in the parking lot near the baseball fields.
HISD officials “prefer” canned drinks and propane-fueled barbecue grills. Party goers should bring their own chairs, tables, tents, coolers and food.
There also will be a special homecoming dance on Saturday night at the Braeburn Country Club, located at 8101 Bissonnet. Because it’s the school’s Diamond Jubilee, dance-goers should “wear your bling.” Tickets are $20.
