George Boehme has been appointed CEO and managing director of InstantNewsNetwork.com. The company currently operates four hyper-local news sites in the Houston area, including InstantNewsKaty.com, InstantNewsWestU.com, InstantNewsBellaire.com and InstantNewsFortBend.com (formerly FortBendNow.com).
Boehme, a former newspaper publisher, says the online firm will be aggressive in its expansion, which will include more than 16 Southwest markets during the next 18 months. These markets will include Galveston, Dallas, Plano and Austin.
“Newspapers are yesterday and the Internet is today,” Boehme said. “Our products deliver accurate and timely content for our readers and focused marketing for our advertisers. The 24/7sites provide community-specific news that readers want, while advertisers won’t be paying for out-of-market eyes viewing their promotions.”
Boehme stressed that InstantNewsNetwork’s Web-based operations allow residents to get their news with greater immediacy than ever and permit advertisers to target the most desirable consumers within their trade area.
“There has never been a better time to use the Internet to provide instant, constantly updated news targeted to the readers’ own community,” Boehme said. “At the same time, advertisers can take advantage of our technology and use their ad dollars to reach consumers more effectively than ever before.
“I am thrilled about our expansion into new communities in the upcoming months. This is an exciting, dynamic time for news gathering organizations and InstantNewsNetwork will be the cutting edge of community journalism.”
24-7? constantly updated? not at i-n-b. though i wish it were so. there is plenty of political and government activity that could use elucidation. do so!
