Boys Raise Over $4,000 For Pin Oak Track

Three Pin Oak Middle School students who have worked all school year to bring a new, professional athletics track to the school have already raised over $4,000, with additional pledges still streaming in. Eighth graders Dalfred Green, Emmanuel Ellerbee and Blaise Bell held a Walk-A-Thon event on Jan. 23 that included fund raisers centered around walking, hula hooping, soccer, basketball and Zumba. Read more about the boys’ project. The track’s total cost is $250,000, and the teenagers plan to host another fund raiser in March.
