Bracing for winter blast: Facilities closed, no solid waste collection in Bellaire Monday-Tuesday

The city of Bellaire announced Friday that it is closing facilities and suspending solid waste collections Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 15-16), as the worst winter storm in decades is bearing down on southeast Texas.

All trash and recycling services are being canceled, and residents are being asked to hold onto the household waste until their next scheduled day. (The city will notify residents if conditions change enough to make Tuesday pickups possible.)

The telephonic City Council meeting scheduled for Monday evening will continue as scheduled. For details and the agenda, visit bellairetx.gov.

Online utility bill services will also be available remotely.
