Carlos Miguel, 37, was arrested by Bellaire police March 16 and charged with driving with a suspended license and carrying a prohibited weapon. Miguel was pulled over in a 1997 blue Ford Expedition around 8 a.m. in the 5800 block of Bissonnet. Police found brass knuckles in the vehicle.
A resident in the 4900 block of Chestnut told police March 16 that a man driving a red Dodge truck stole his air compressor. Police did not locate the truck, and the theft is under investigation.
Two men who were working in the Walgreens at 5002 Bellaire Blvd. told police on March 16 that while they were inside the store, someone stole a bag of tool from their opened trailer.
Car burglaries were reported on March 16 and March 19. The window of a car was broken in the 4300 block of Jim West on March 16, and a purse stolen. On March 19, a rock was used to shatter the window of a car in the 5300 block of Huisache and property was stolen.
Around 1:23 a.m. March 19, police were dispatched to the 4600 block of Pine regarding a possible burglary of a car in progress. When police arrived, the witness said the suspect was gone. Police spoke to the victim, and found that the door handle of the victim’s truck was damaged, but entry was not made.
A resident in the 4300 block of Vivian told police on March 16 that someone threw a cinder block at his 2007 Ford F150 pickup truck, damaging the windshield and the hood. Police are investigating.
A resident in the 5200 block of Braeburn reported a case of identity theft on March 16. The suspect used the resident’s name and driver’s license. On March 19, a resident in the 5200 block of Beech told police that an unknown person used the resident’s personal information to open an account without the victim’s permission.
A stop for unconfirmed insurance at 3:23 a.m. March 17 led to the arrest of 23-year-old Juan Carlos Salazar-Jordan for driving while intoxicated. During the booking process, police say Salazar was found to be in possession of 1 gram of Cocaine and was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Gustavo Garcia-Martinez, 39, was arrested for displaying a fake vehicle inspection sticker on a red 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier after he was stopped in the 400 block of Mulberry on March 18.
