The city of Bellaire is reporting that Bellaire HS is in lockdown but that “suspects are in custody” in an “ongoing” criminal trespassing incident Thursday morning (March 2).
The alert from the city said police responded to a report from the campus, 5100 Maple St. at around 10:15 a.m., and that the scene has been secured as Bellaire police work with Houston ISD officers to investigate.
This is the second security breach at the campus in less than three weeks.
On Feb. 13 a former student was taken into custody after being let onto the campus by a current student through a side door and was found to have a gun in a backpack when taken into custody by school police and searched.
Principal Michael Niggli said in an email at the time that the campus was not locked down in that incident because the alleged trespasser was in custody in the police office when the gun was discovered.
