For the eighth year, the Southwest / Brays Oaks District area of Houston will hold a comprehensive Candidates Forum at 7 p.m., Oct. 14 at Fondren Middle School, 6333 South Braeswood, east of Fondren Road. The event’s prime hosts are Southwest Houston 2000, Inc, and the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce, along with southwest area HOA/POA, civic and business organizations as community hosts. The event is free and refreshments will be available.
“This year’s Forum will focus on federal, state, and county and time permitting, judicial candidates,” said Ron Meinke, moderator. No proxies, only the candidates are allowed to speak.
“To aid all of our neighbors, we will have display tables of political handouts for each of the races,” said Rita Woodward, forum coordinator.
