Car Burglar Arrested After Being Held At Gunpoint By Off-Duty Police Officer

Police arrested a 29-year-old man for breaking into an off-duty police officer's vehilce on Nov. 16.

Bellaire police arrested a 29-year-old man on Nov. 16 after he was caught going through an off-duty police officer’s personal vehicle.

According to reports, the suspect, Randy Lewis, was caught going through the center console and glove box of the vehicle in the 4700 block of Willow.

The off-duty officer held Lewis at gunpoint until more officers arrived, police said.

Police also determined that Lewis had burglarized two other vehicles in the 4700 block of Willow.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle.
