Car Stolen At Gunpoint On South Rice

On Dec. 21, a car traveling northbound in the 6400 block of S. Rice Avenue around 1:30 a.m. was stopped by a dark sedan that blocked the driver’s path. A suspect got out of the sedan, and stole the other driver’s car at gunpoint. The suspect is described as a muscular Hispanic man, 6’4” tall, 240 pounds, mustache, a tattoo-covered neck and was armed with a large, silver revolver. The incident is under investigation.

 

A resident in the 4900 block of Bellaire told police on Dec. 14 that she believed her housekeeper was stealing from her home. The housekeeper was fired and restitution was paid. No charges were filed.

 

Also on Dec. 14 a man who works in the 6300 block of West Loop South told police that at some point after Hurricane Ike, while his office building was without power and unsecured, someone stole multiple items from inside his office.

 

Police took a report of graffiti at Russ Pittman Park on Dec. 14. Someone used a black permanent marker to write on the slide.

 

Around 9 a.m. Dec. 15, police received a report that a man was performing sexual acts on himself in his car in the 8700 block of Chimney Rock. The suspect, 39-year-old Eric Giron, was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Harris County. The District Attorney’s Office declined charges.

 

The CVS Pharmacy at 5430 Bissonnet was robbed by two unknown men around 10:49 p.m. Dec. 15. The robbery is under investigation.

 

A home in the 4600 block of Beech was robbed Dec. 16. The unknown suspects entered the house through an unlocked back door.

 

A resident of the 800 block of Atwell reported an identity theft to police on Dec. 17. The victim told police someone used his information to forge checks and purchase merchandise.

 

On Dec. 18, police responded to an assault in progress in the 7200 block of Loop 610 northbound. The victim told police that her boyfriend, 21-year0old Jonathan Law, assaulted her while she was driving. Law was arrested on Dec. 19 for class A assault after police obtained a warrant.

 

A resident in the 4400 block of Jim West was robbed in his garage on Dec. 19. The suspect was described as about 5’9” with medium build, wearing a long sleeve black sweatshirt with a hood. The robbery is under investigation.

 

A van parked in the 5200 block of Willow was broken into on Dec. 20. The owner’s purse was stolen.

 

The driver’s side window of a car parked in the 5200 block of Valerie was smashed on Dec. 21.
