The Nature Discovery Center in Bellaire, 7112 Newcastle Dr., will host its annual free Spring Fling celebration from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today (April 13), rain or shine.
The family friendly event is both fun and educational, an early Earth Day with nature and environmental activities, crafts, and exhibits, family nature hikes, and getting up-close-and-personal with live animals throughout the park’s habitat zones, including wetlands, woods and prairies.
Essentials Magazine/EssentialsNews.com, represented by Maria Suarez, a Bellaire resident and student, will be on hand to distribute free Milkweed plants and information on how to start and maintain a monarch butterfly garden.
Food will be available for sale from the PUCS (Pop Up Coffee Stop) truck. Information about parking is available here.
