Charges Pending On Suspect In Garage Thefts

June 30, 2008 by Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

Charges are pending on a suspect believed to be responsible for two thefts from West U. garages last week. A deputy from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office performed a scent line-up using bloodhounds and a scent article from the suspect to help West U. police identify the suspect.
The first burglary was reported on June 22 in the 2600 block of Talbot. The resident told police that a bike was stolen from her garage at some point between 5 p.m. on June 21 and 8 a.m. June 22. The garage door was possibly left open though the night.
The second theft occurred on June 23 in the 3000 block of Nottingham. A bike and a power tool were stolen, with no sign of forced entry.
West U. police believe the same suspect is responsible for both, but are not releasing the suspect’s name until charges are filed.
