Chevron Houston Marathon Coming Through, Expect Street Closures

The 2009 Chevron Houston Marathon will run through the area Jan. 18, and several area streets will close for the event. Area closures include:

• All lanes of Weslayan from University to Bissonnet
• Weslayan’s northbound lanes from Bissonnet to Westpark
• All lanes of Westpark from Weslayan to Newcastle
• All lanes of Newcastle, other than southbound curbside lane, from Westpark to U.S. 59
• U.S. 59 feeder southbound between Newcastle and Loop 610 feeder (northbound)
• Loop 610 feeder (northbound) closed between U.S. 59 feeder (northbound) and Richmond Ave.

The U.S. 59 south exit ramp to Newcastle will also be closed. All closed streets are expected to reopen around 11 a.m. For a complete list of closures, click here.
