West University Place city employees will begin observing the Christmas holiday Monday, with offices closed Monday and Tuesday and reopening at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Exceptions Monday are solid waste collections, which will continue as scheduled, and the West U Recreation Center, 4210 Bellaire Blvd., which will open on a reduced schedule Monday, from 5 a.m.-1 p.m., but close all day Tuesday.
Homes scheduled for Tuesday solid waste collection will be serviced on Wednesday this week, with the schedule returning to normal Thursday and Friday.
Emergency services will be operating on their full schedules, and parks will be open.
City offices will be closed on New Year’s Day, next Tuesday.
