The $35 million expansion project calls for the addition of seven new, state-of-the-art exhibits, which will double the museum’s size. Through Feb. 28, some permanent exhibits will temporarily close while new ones are installed.  Exhibits like Farm to Market will become part of a new exhibit, while Tot*Spot and Matter Factory will become entire new ones.

Families with young ones will enjoy an exclusive hour for toddlers during the new Toddler Time from 9-10 a.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays through March 13.  These will take place an hour before opening to the public and parents will be able to bring their children, ages birth to 36 months, for activities designed to develop critical thinking, problem solving and motor skills.

Admission is $3 per person during this promotional period. Children under two and Museum Members receive free admission. Free Family Nights are offered Thursdays from 5-8 p.m.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon-6 p.m. For more information, visit www.cmhouston.org or call 713-522-1138.
