U.S. Rep. Lizzie Fletcher (D-7th District) is suffering from a respiratory infection and not Coronavirus, her office has announced.
“I am thankful to report that my COVID-19 test came back negative,” Fletcher said in a statement. “Although I did test positive for a different respiratory infection, I am now on the mend.”
The congresswoman self-quarantined last week when she developed symptoms and awaited her test results. She said she will continue to work from her Houston home.
Fletcher was elected to Congress in 2018 and is running for re-election. Her district includes Bellaire and West University Place.
