Council To Meet For Annual Performance Review Of City Manager

December 8, 2008 by Bellaire Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The Bellaire City Council will meet in a closed executive session at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 for the annual performance review of City Manager Bernie Satterwhite. Satterwhite has been with the city for eight years.

Satterwhite, whose base salary is currently $120,800, could receive what amounts to an accrued pay raise for the past five years of service. Satterwhite’s base pay has not changed for five years, but he has accrued additional pay at the rate of 10 percent of his base pay per year. The accrued pay would only be paid if he was let go by council, in addition to his severance package, or if he stayed with the city for five years after the pay plan was implemented. The five year date was Nov. 30, 2008.

Depending on the outcome of the performance review, Satterwhite could receive the accrued pay, which would make his average salary for the past five years $132,800.
