March 14, 2013 by Bellaire Essentials Staff

March 1

About 12:41 a.m., an officer observed a white Honda Civic in the 7200 block of West Loop 610 northbound being operated at night with no headlights. Upon contact with the driver and further investigation, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

At 10:56 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the U.S. Post Office at 5350 Bellaire Blvd. in regards to possible child abuse. Witnesses stated they observed a male subject rearing a small boy multiple times, pushing multiple times, grabbing the boy’s arm tight and dragging him, and yelling straight at the boy’s face. The male subject and child had left when the officer arrived, but a license plate was provided. The officer made contact with the father at home and son at his daycare. No injuries were visible on the child but child did not act normal around his father. The child appeared nervous and uncomfortable in front of his father.
