A driver who ignored a stop sign in the 6700 block of Fairhaven around 6:37 p.m. Oct. 26 was taken into custody by West U. Police after it was discovered that the driver’s license was invalid.
Three people were arrested for possession of marijuana after a warrant arrest resulted in the discovery of marijuana in the trio’s vehicle. The arrests occurred in the 6800 block of Buffalo Speedway on Oct. 26, where the car was stopped by police. The driver was found to have a warrant and was placed under arrest. The other two were arrested after marijuana was found during a search of the car.
West U. Police met with a Precinct 7 Deputy on Oct. 27 to pick up a suspect with three outstanding warrants in the city of West U.
Jewelry was reported stolen from a home in the 4100 block of Tennyson on Oct. 28. A maid service or other technician is suspected.
A stolen vehicle was recovered by the Houston Police Department a few days after being stolen from the 3000 block of Albans on Oct. 28. The victim of the theft told police that the vehicle he was using to carry his tools was stolen while he was working at a residence in the area. The driver of the stolen vehicle was arrested and charges filed.
A driver stopped for speeding was arrested in the 3200 block of Carnegie around 2:33 a.m. Oct. 29 after officers discovered the driver’s license was invalid.
Police responded to a complaint of telephone harassment around 2:17 p.m. Oct. 29. A woman in the 3100 block of Albans told police that she received two phone calls earlier in the day from a man that was told by police the previous day not to contact her. The victim told police was afraid the caller would hurt her.
The police-issued gun and bullet-proof vest of a West U. police officer were stolen from his residence on Oct. 29. West U. Police Chief Ken Walker says the gun has been registered on the nation-wide computer system as stolen.
A woman in the 4100 block of Villanova told police that on Oct. 30, she left her car unattended for about five or 10 minutes, and when she returned, the driver’s side window had been smashed and her purse stolen.
Halloween decorations were reported stolen from the front yard of a home in the 2600 block of Tangley on Oct. 31.
Cash was reported stolen from a purse left unsecured in a Colonial Park office on Oct. 31.
