As a part of Dance Month at the Kaplan Theatre, the Jewish Community Center will host a Leap ‘N Learn™ Teacher Workshop on Jan. 29-30.
The Leap ‘N Learn™ Teacher Workshop is a two-day, 12-hour intensive program focusing on the principles of the Leap ‘N Learn syllabus, including positive, creative dance education.
The goal of Leap ’N Learn is to provide resources for dance teachers so that they may easily render safe, effective pre-ballet and creative movement training for their students, according to its website.
The workshop is facilitated by Beverly F. Spell and Annie W. Spell, Ph.D., co-authors of the syllabus. The workshop will enhance dance teacher’s ability to teach young dancers.
The workshop takes place Saturday, Jan. 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, 5601 S. Braeswood.
The cost of the workshop is $130 for JCC members, $190 for the general public.
