Dollar Tree Recalls Halloween Lanterns Due To Fire, Burn Hazards

Dollar Tree Stores announced today the recall of 682,000 Halloween lanterns.
Dollar Tree Stores Inc., of Chesapeake, Va. today announced a voluntary recall of 682,000 pumpkin, ghost and skull Halloween lanterns after learning that the bulb in the lantern can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.
Products subject to this recall were distributed nationwide to Dollar Tree, Dollar Bill$, Occasions, Deal$ and Dollar Tree Deal$ stores.
The lanterns are about 6 1/2 inches tall and were sold in orange, white and black. The model number is 954437-13096-003-1005 and is printed on the bottom of the lanterns.
No injuries have been reported to date. While no injuries have been reported, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Dollar Tree is advising the public to remove the batteries from the lanterns and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
