West University Councilmember Bob Higley wasted no time, turning in his paperwork to run for mayor on the first day of filing Jan. 16.
He and his wife, former Mayor Laura Higley, held an open house to get the 25 signatures required to get on the ballot and handed out yard signs to supporters.

He is a financial adviser with Wells Fargo. Laura Higley was mayor from 1989-91 and has been an elected justice on the state First Court of Appeals for 17 years.
