Residents are invited to hear a New York author speak on her recent book about modern working parenthood.
The Oct. 20 event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center Kaplan Theatre, 5601 S. Braeswood. The featured author is Deborah Copaken Kogan.

“Her book, Hell is Other Parents, is a witty, sanguine and at times, laugh-out-loud romp through the landmines of modern working parenthood,” according to a JCC statement.
Tickets are $15 and include a signed book and refreshments. For more information visit www.jcchouston.org/.
Deborah Copaken Kogan worked as a war photographer from 1988 to 1992, the period covered in her bestselling memoir Shutterbabe, after which she spent six years as an Emmy Award winning television producer, first for ABC News, then at Dateline NBC.
