Crawfish shells will be cracked open at the Crawfish Kitchen from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday.

Center Pointe Energy and the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first annual event in the parking lot of the Chamber of Commerce, 6900 S. Rice Ave.

Christina Hurd, owner of Not Just Cakes, will be cooking the crawfish at the Crawfish Kitchen.

“She’s a very good crawfish cooker,” Director of Communication Development Jonathan Beitler said.

Tickets are $15 for 2 lbs. of crawfish, corn, potatoes and rolls. Tickets can be purchased at the event or online at http://www.gswhcc.org/. Beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase as well.

Al Collins will be playing Cajun music at the event and they will have a raffle for a 42-inch flat screen TV. Someone will be walking around selling the tickets for $5 for one ticket or $10 for three tickets.
