First-come, first-served (but no paper shredding) at Bellaire recycling drive-thru today

May 7, 2022 by Charlotte Aguilar

Bellaire’s Environmental Sustainability Board will host a drive-thru recycling event from 9 a.m. tentatively through 1 p.m. today (Saturday, May 7), but it will end whenever trucks are full. Location is the Public Works yard located at 4337 Edith St. in the southeast corner of the city.

Participants must stay in their vehicles at all times, and no walk-ups will be allowed.

Paper-shredding will not be offered at the event. The board offers a explanation of the elimination of this service and a list of companies that provide for such shredding here.

Acceptable items include scrap metal, small appliances (cable boxes, power cords, cables, VCR, cell phones, IPads/tablets), computer equipment ( laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, hard drives), TV (CRT up to 27-inch, LCD/Plasma, LED up to 50-inch, no wooden cases), radios and stereos.
