Bellaire is searching for applicants for each of its eight volunteer boards and commissions which do everything from making zoning recommendations and quasi-judicial building and standards decisions, to helping manage the city’s parks and recreation program and cultural arts, to dealing with seniors programs and environmental issues.
The deadline to apply, either online or in person, is 5 p.m. May 27. City Council will conduct interviews in June, with those selected serving from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021.
Openings are:
•Board of Adjustment, three positions.
•Building & Standards Commission, three.
•Cultural Arts Board, three.
•Environmental and Sustainability Board, four.
•Evelyn’s Park Conservancy Board, two (for city representatives to the board)
•LIFE Advisory Board on seniors’ programs, four.
•Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, four.
•Planning & Zoning Commission, three.
Those currently serving on the boards may reapply if they are not term-limited — three two-year terms are permitted.
