The Urban Harvest 10th Annual Fruit Tree Sale takes place Jan. 8 from 8 a.m. to noon at Rice University. Tree varieties will include citrus, peaches, plums, nectarines, cherries, apples and much more. The sale will be held at the university’s Football Stadium Concourse on Greenbriar.
The organization is also hosting two educational classes to help people decide what types of trees to purchase and to learn how to care for the plants. The first class takes place Jan. 2 from noon to 2 p.m. at the University of Houston’s Oberholtzer Hall Ballroom, and a second class is scheduled for Jan. 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the United Way, 20 Waugh Dr., Houston. Admission costs $10 per person.
