With great fanfare, Santa Claus will begin his five-night tour of Bellaire neighborhoods tonight (Monday, Dec. 11), with a visit to the southeast quadrant of the city.
The annual “Santa Sightings” bring the jolly man throughout Bellaire on a city emergency vehicle with a police escort, sirens sounding, horns tooting, lights flashing, from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The itinerary is based on the city’s solid waste collection routes:
- Monday, December 11 – South of Bellaire/East of 610 (Solid Waste Collection Section D)
- Tuesday, December 12 – South of Bellaire/West of 610 to S. Rice (Solid Waste Collection Section E)
- Wednesday, December 13 – North of Bellaire/West of 610 (Solid Waste Collection Section B)
- Thursday, December 14 – North of Bellaire/East of 610 (Solid Waste Collection Section C)
- Friday, December 15 – South of Bellaire/West of S. Rice (Solid Waste Collection Section A)
So make sure the little ones are in their warmest PJs and footwear, that the phone/camera is charged, then make your way to the curb for a friendly greeting.
And be prepared to respond knowledgeably to the annual alarmists posting to Facebook and Next Door, certain that the emergency responder sound and fury indicates a public safety crisis.
