Bellaire’s traditional nonpartisan forum featuring candidates for mayor and three council seats will start with a meet-and-greet tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 15) at 6 at the new Civic Center Auditorium adjacent to Bellaire City Hall, 7008 S. Rice Ave.

Snacks and beverages will be offered, followed by the actual forum from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Local precinct judge and CPA Patrick Durio will serve as moderator, with former Bellaire City Councilmember Millie Hast and community volunteer and corporate development consultant Tim Evans posing questions.

With a number of simmering controversies about how the city is being managed, this is the first time in recent memory that every race is contested, and all candidates have been invited to participate. They are, in ballot order:

For mayor: Robert Riquelmy, Andrew Friedberg.

For Council Position 2: Catherine Lewis, Trisha Pollard.

For Council Position 4: Nathan Wesely, Kevin Newman, Win Frazier.

For Council Position 6: Keith Evans Bowers, Jim Hotze, David Montague.
