The company will donate $300,000 of food to food banks across the state through its Food Bank Assistance Program. Each of the 15 food banks in Texas affiliated with Feeding America will receive a delivery of 27,500 lbs. of food from H-E-B to help meet the needs in their community.
Food donations include Hill Country Fare Green Beans, Hill Country Fare Whole Kernel Corn, and H-E-B Macaroni and Cheese.
“There are still too many Texas food banks running low on food prior to this busy holiday season,” said Winell Herron, Group Vice President of Public Affairs and Diversity for H-E-B. “Hunger prevention has been a core pillar of support at H-E-B for more than 100 years, and now more than ever is it important to support the food banks that help feed Texas residents.”
The H-E-B Food Bank Assistance Program allows for the redistribution of food and non-food products, supporting a total of 15 food banks in Texas and 11 in Mexico, delivering more than 26 million lbs. of food, non-perishable drugstore items, breads and pastries annually.
